In older people, the protective effect of the corona vaccination already wears off after about six months, according to the microbiologist and toxicologist Franz-Xaver Reichl.
More recent studies would even show that the vaccination protection disappears here after just five months.

That means, the 70- to 80-year-olds should be vaccinated after five months,
" says Reichl.
The Standing Vaccination Commission (Stiko) recommends the booster vaccination * at the earliest six months after the complete initial vaccination. "It is of course problematic if the Stiko still recommends vaccinating after six months," said Professor Reichl.
All study results would suggest that you can and should refresh the corona vaccination earlier.
This applies not only to the elderly, but also to adults over the age of 18.
Reichl's appeal: Older citizens in particular should have their corona vaccine protection refreshed as soon as possible - preferably five months after the first immunization.

Please carry out this booster vaccination as soon as possible,
" advises Reichl, especially those over 60 years of age.
However, earlier than five months after the initial immunization, one should not be “boosted”, says Reichl: “This is currently not recommended”.
