Covid-19 in France: 114 new deaths, more than 10,000 hospitalized patients

While contaminations are flying away, 1,824 patients are hospitalized in critical care (resuscitation, intensive care or co-surveillance.


"The situation is worsening on the front of the epidemic": the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran made this observation Tuesday during the questioning session at the National Assembly.

Unveiling the figures to be announced in the evening by the Public Health France agency, he reported about 47,000 contaminations over the past 24 hours.

This “continues to mark an increase in the spread of the virus on the national territory, with an average number of contaminations per day which exceeds 30,000 and which could be, if we continue this dynamic, of more than 60% per week, higher than the peak of the 3rd wave by the end of the week, ”he added.

According to the latest data from Public Health France, published this Tuesday 10,249 patients are hospitalized due to a Covid-19 infection.

This is the first time since September 11 that the threshold of 10,000 hospitalized has been crossed.

They were 9,860 Monday and 8,525 a week ago, Tuesday November 23.

In the past 24 hours, 1,187 admissions have been recorded against 1,043 on Monday.

In the past 24 hours, 114 people have died from an infection linked to Covid-19.

Among the hospitalized patients, 1,824 are in critical care (resuscitation, intensive care or continuous monitoring).

The day before they were 1749 and 1455 last Tuesday.

271 new admissions have been recorded in the past 24 hours, against 253 on Monday.

One reason why the recall campaign must be amplified, ”pleaded the Minister of Health.

This is the first time since mid-April that the incidence rate (number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the past week) has exceeded 300. It stands at 306.7.

All the metropolitan departments have an incidence rate above 125, which has not happened for a year and a month.

The incidence rate in France is back above 300, for the first time since mid-April.

Since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 51,963,574 people have received at least one injection (or 77.1% of the total population), announces the Directorate General of Health (DGS).

50,876,798 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (ie 75.5% of the total population).

As of November 29, 2021, 91% of the adult population had received at least one injection and 89% of the major population had a full vaccination schedule.

7,664,130 people received a booster dose.
