The stolen property consists of numerous possible Christmas gifts: on the weekend, burglars stole loads of Lego blocks through a hole in the wall of a toy shop in Lippstadt.

A police spokesman said on Tuesday that they entered the store through the opening, which was almost a meter in diameter, and stole the Lego sets.

According to initial investigations, the thieves took the contents of around 100 toy boxes with them.

The boxes stayed behind.

"It really was a picture of devastation," said Jana Schumacher, branch manager of the Toys World toy store, at the sight of cut-open cardboard boxes in front of the empty shelves.

“The hole was right at the end of the Lego section.

They must have jumped in here and then proceeded very specifically, «says Schumacher.

Police are looking for witnesses

Garbage bags left behind indicated that the thieves had removed the Lego parts to save space.

Schumacher estimates the value of the goods at around 35,000 euros.

Products from adjacent ranges, such as high-quality model racing cars or Playmobil, remained untouched.

“They must have spied on this before.

If they had continued to move around the store, a signaling system would have gone on, ”said Schumacher.

The investigators are now hoping for witnesses who can provide information about the crime or the whereabouts of the stolen property.
