(ANSA-AFP) - ROME, NOVEMBER 30 - The 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winner Nadia Murad hailed as "a victory" for the Yazidis the green man for genocide issued in Germany against an ISIS soldier found guilty of having made a Yazidi child die of thirst 5 years old.
Murad, herself a Yazidi survivor of mistreatment, called the German court ruling "historic" which recognizes the crimes committed by the so-called Islamic state against the Yazidi community as genocide.
"This verdict is a victory for the survivors of genocide, survivors of sexual violence and the Yazidi community," Murad said in a statement, thanking Germany.
