A former substitute teacher has been arrested in North Carolina for allegedly sending pornography to students.
The 19-year-old is accused of, among other things, sexual assault in two cases as well as the dissemination of »material harmful to minors«, as reported by »The Shelby Star« and the television station Local12.
According to the first police investigation, the woman sent photos and videos to several 13 and 14-year-old students.
According to police, the school principal was informed on November 18 by a parent that the teacher may have sent inappropriate materials.
$ 50,000 security deposit
The police started the investigation and arrested the woman.
She is said to have confessed to the deeds.
She was released on bail of $ 50,000.
However, she is no longer allowed to approach her old school or contact the students.
The 19-year-old worked as a substitute teacher at the school from November 8th to 17th.
A school district spokesman said the woman was allowed to work as a substitute teacher despite her young age because she is over 18 and has a high school diploma.
