(ANSA) - STOCKHOLM, NOV 30 - The Social Democrat MagdalenaAndersson has been elected premier of Sweden for the second time.
Andersson had become the first woman to lead the Scandinavian country a week ago but resigned after a few hours following the rejection of the financial maneuver proposed by her.
Now Magdalena Andersson, celebrated as Sweden's first premier woman, is trying again.
The 54-year-old Social Democrat, former finance minister, was re-elected with 101 votes in favor, 173 against and 75 abstentions, but under the Swedish system, a candidate for premier does not need a majority in favor, as long as there is not one against at least 175 deputies.
Andersson's confirmation is announced, however, all uphill, starting from the numbers: even on 24 November last, she was elected premier by a whisker with 117 votes in favor, 57 abstained and 174 against.
But, at the end of a sleepy afternoon, the new prime minister was forced to resign after the rejection of the financial maneuver she proposed.
