Worldwide, tens of thousands took to the streets on Thursday, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

According to the UN women's organization, the problem is pressing: almost every third woman worldwide has already experienced physical or sexual violence.

It takes less than nine months for these babies to be ready: Brazilian artisan Ana Paula Guimarães is working on a super-realistic baby doll.

The so-called reborn babies should look as real as possible with details such as fingernails, eyelashes, veins, wrinkles and spots on the body.

Production takes around seven days - the finished dolls cost the equivalent of around 1148 euros.

Yoga has been practiced in India for thousands of years.

It found widespread use in western countries from the 1950s onwards.

In aerial yoga, you literally move in the air: with a cloth that is attached to the ceiling.

The participants use typical yoga poses, but sometimes combine them with elements from Pilates and dance exercises.

Saint-Louis in Senegal, the »African Venice«, is a small fishing village on the West African coast.

Excavators are currently building dams out of stone and sand to protect the city from rising sea levels.

Otherwise it is doomed.

Everything for the ruler of the dead: A voudou believer with a white make-up takes part in the festival of spirits in Haiti's capital Port-au-Prince.

During the festivities, numerous people visited the grave of the first person believed to have been buried in the city's cemetery.

According to the Voudou belief, this is Baron Samedi, the guardian of the dead.

Horse tracks in the sand (1.11.2021)

Beach horse races have been held in Laytown, County Meath since 1868.

The competitions start early in the morning when the water recedes.

Last year, the race fell victim to the corona pandemic.

The Laytown Racecourse is unique - only here in Ireland do such equestrian events take place directly on the water.
