(ANSA) - MADRID, 01 DEC - "The economic recovery is gradually accelerating over the course of the year and in 2022 the pace will be even higher. We will be one of the fastest growing EU economies".
This was stated by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, showing optimism despite the new OECD estimates for the Iberian country lowering growth expectations: from 6.8% to 4.5% in 2021 and from 6.6% to 5.5% in 2022.
"Spain faces the future on a very solid basis," added Sánchez from Egypt, where he is on a mission.
"The data on employment are also very positive", he said, "we have 20 million active people, that is, in just a year and a half we have exceeded pre-pandemic levels".
