Heavy gusts of wind are expected in Germany.
The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of the storm Daniel, which hits the north on Wednesday.
It would move "from the North Sea via Southern Denmark to the Baltic Sea," it said.
In the course of the day, gusts of wind force 9 are expected in the northwest.
In the evenings and on Thursday night there are said to be from the Weser-Ems area to Saxony-Anhalt and Brandenburg "excessively heavy gusts of wind" with a wind force of 10, in some cases even hurricane-like gusts.
On the North and Baltic Seas, the weather becomes even more uncomfortable at night: Hurricane gusts of wind force 12 are expected there.
The maritime weather service in Hamburg also warned of a storm, from evening there was a risk of storms due to gale-force gusts that can reach speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour.
The hurricane gusts can be even stronger on Heligoland.
Wind with 150 km / h on the Brocken
The State Agency for Water Management, Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation (NLWKN) in Lower Saxony had already spoken on Tuesday of the risk of a light storm surge on Wednesday evening.
The DWD expects strong gusts in the east and south-west.
In the mountains there can be gusts of wind or gale force.
On Wednesday evening, the DWD considers "extreme gale gusts at 150 km / h" to be possible on the Brocken.
For the mountainous region and Schleswig-Holstein, the German Weather Service also assumes light frost on Thursday night.
There, as well as in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, there is also a risk of slipperiness from fresh snow or slush.
In southern Germany, snow, ice and storms resulted in hundreds of accidents on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
