Those resistant to Linky meters risk grinding their teeth.
The Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) would like to invoice the meter readings to households that have refused their installation.
According to its report published on November 25, the cost would be around 64 euros per year, or 5.33 euros per month.
"
This invoicing would not take place systematically until 2025
", adds CRE.

The logic is not to convince those who do not want a Linky meter but avoid paying costs to the community that a refusal, not a disability, implies such as registered mail or moving 'a technician.
These 64 euros will just cover the costs incurred
”, specifies Nicolas Deloge, director of networks at CRE.
He added that between 2023 and 2025 "
transition period
", households that would "
sign of life
" (counter photo, approach with Enedis) should not move forward when others would have to pay 50 euros per year.
With 34 million Linky meters installed between the end of 2015 and the end of 2021, or 90% of the Enedis fleet, the network covers France.
Beyond the "
industrial success
" according to the report, the CRE believes that the Linky meters will be allowed Enedis save one billion euros between 2021 and 2024 (remote interventions, fewer billing errors and fraud ).
Ultimately, the savings would amount to 350 million euros per year, "
in line with the objectives set at the launch of the project
".
Online consultation
CRE also launched, on November 25, an online consultation relating to the "
new incentive regulatory framework which will apply from 2022 for the operating phase which is starting
".
It will end on January 5.
"
The feedback from the players
will be taken into account
", assures Nicolas Deloge, who wants to be optimistic "
by virtue of the fairly high degree of membership for several years
".

Even today, Linky meters are not unanimous.
Some denounce higher bills or even waves that cause migraines and headaches.
But difficult to establish a cause and effect link.
In 2020, Enedis was condemned for violation of the precautionary principle by the Grenoble Court of Appeal, a first in the matter, in the face of an electrosensitive individual.
