(ANSA) - ROME, 02 DEC - In the first 11 months of 2021 25% more books were sold than in 2020 and the end of the year is estimated to grow, between 16.3% and 12.6%, for various publishing, that is to say essay novels and comics sold in bookstores and in large-scale distribution. Photographing this significant improvement are the estimates of the UfficioStudi of the Italian Publishers Association based on NielsenIQ data, presented online on December 2, in a preview of the professional program of Più libri più libero, the National Fair of Small and Media Publishing in Aie, at the Nuvola di Rome from 4th to 8th December.
According to the survey, in the period January 4-November 11, 2021, sales at cover prices amounted to 1,356 million euros, up 22% compared to 2020 and 15% compared to 2019.
In copies, this is 92 million books, up by 25%, that is 1/4 more than in 2020, and by 17% compared to 2019. And the cover price of books sold falls, equal to 14, 67 euros, down 2.4% compared to 2020 and 1.7% compared to 2019. (ANSA).
