A showroom for the eco-sustainable revolution of the fashion industry, with thousands of samples of fabrics, accessories, 'green' packaging already available. It is Punto Sostenibilità, the new project of the Fashion Research Italy Foundation, founded in 2015 by the will of Cavalier Alberto Masotti, former president of the historic La Perla brand. It was inaugurated on 1 December in Bologna and is a large archive, both physical and digital, of solutions with sustainability characteristics, coming from catalogs of selected suppliers throughout the national territory. A sui generis showroom, which aims to connect supply and demand, and which opens with about 1,500 references and 100 companies mapped. Alongside the now traditional recycled wool, more innovative products find space such as regenerated silk - similar to cashmere to the touch - fabrics and trimmings made with stock yarns through the use of traditional looms, compositions with regenerated mixed fibers and even jersey in biodegradable polyester, biodegradable and compostable bags and sacks for product packaging, buttons and zips made with recycled aluminum, ribbons and tapes in recycled polyester and much more. The archive houses the best of innovation, with a further feature: only materials and solutions already industrialized and immediately available for small or large-scale production. Each of the samples present is described with related technical specifications and certifications. The project is co-financed by the Emilia-Romagna Region. The companies involved to date come mostly from the large Italian textile districts, such as Prato, Biella, Vicenza, Como, and from Emilia-Romagna as regards accessories and packaging.

On the occasion of the launch, the Foundation hosts the Italian premiere of the exhibition 'La gentilezza della carta.

Sustainability is beauty 'by Caterina Crepax and exceptionally opens its spaces to the public.

The exhibition will be open from 2 December 2021 to 30 January 2022.
