The Stuttgart public prosecutor and the Waiblingen criminal police have been investigating a 53-year-old volunteer sports trainer since July.
According to the current state of the investigation, the man is said to have sexually abused children and adolescents in sports clubs and owned child porn between 2006 and 2021, as the investigators announced on Thursday.
He is accused of several hundred acts of sexual abuse.
He was arrested on Tuesday and is on remand.
The alleged victims are children and adolescents with whom he had contact or looked after in his role as a sports youth trainer in clubs.
At the beginning of the investigation, a now adult alleged victim confided in the police.
In the course of the subsequent investigation, the Stuttgart public prosecutor obtained a search warrant.
The police secured extensive evidence.
After its evaluation, further alleged victims could be identified and questioned.
