The measures taken by the authorities force the seven members of the group to isolate themselves upon their return from the United States. They should thus cancel their participation in Mnet Asian Music Awards.

The Covid-19 epidemic is on the rise again across the world, and no one is spared.

A few days after performing for the first time in public in nearly two years with four consecutive dates at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the group BTS will have to cancel their performance at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs), the big mass of Korean music.

According to

Variety

, the seven members will have to self-isolate for more than a week upon their return from the United States, preventing them from taking the stage for the ceremony which will take place on December 11.

Faced with the virulence of the Omicron variant and the rising curves in a large number of countries, the Korean government has in effect decided that

"all international arrivals should be subject to mandatory quarantine for ten days over the next two weeks from Friday, whether or not they are vaccinated ”,

indicates the American magazine.

Forced Hiatus

A halt for BTS, which in a few years has become a major musical phenomenon.

The boy band from South Korea is the first to reach an international audience while continuing (until recently) to continue to sing in Korean.

Variety also

specifies that three of the seven members have sold their share in the company Hybe Productions.

Formerly known as Big Hit Entertaiment, the label has become a juggernaut in the Korean music industry along with BTS.

In the summer of 2020, Hybe went public, and the band members were offered thousands of shares in their name.

This resale of assets is done in anticipation of a future hiatus.

Despite being between 24 and 29 years old, several members of the group still have to do their compulsory military service, forcing the rest of the group to take a break, and thus seize the cash machine that the boy band has become.

This new situation should not prevent the boy band from continuing to meet success in 2022. Their single

Dynamite

is already the most listened to of the year on the Apple Music platform.
