(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 03 - Ed Sheeran and Elton John together for Christmas.

The two artists release a new Christmas single for charity entitled "Merry Christmas".

The song is accompanied by a video directed by Jason Koening.

Merry Christmas has everything a Christmas song should have: bells, festive harmonies, joyful arrangements.

Written by Ed Sheeran / Elton John and produced by Steve Mac, the song cements a friendship of over 10 years and sees the two artists together for the first time in an official single. But it is not their first foray into the Christmas charts: in 2017 Ed conquered number 1 with the timeless ballad "Perfect" and Elton John in 1973 with the classic "Step into Christmas", one of the most played Christmas songs of all time in UK. The "Merry Christmas" video - written by Jason Koening, Jenny Koening and Ed Sheeran - has tons of video quotes and classic Christmas movies. Proceeds from sales throughout the Christmas period will be donated to the Ed Sheeran Suffolkmusic foundation and the Elton John aids foundation. The Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation helps children under the age of 18 living in Suffolk with donations for music education and study. The Elton John AIDS Foundation, founded in 1992, is one of the leading independent organizations in the world. Its mission is to end the AIDS epidemic. But also the fight against the stigma, discrimination and disinterest that hinder the fight against AIDS. (HANDLE).
