In June 2017, 72 people died in a fire in London's Grenfell Tower.
The fire was triggered by a defective refrigerator and spread rapidly in the high-rise building - apparently because cheap cladding materials had been used in the construction.
The Kingspan company is now sponsoring the Formula 1 car of racing driver Lewis Hamilton.
The Formula 1 champion is to start advertising the company at the Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia at the weekend.
Survivors of the fire and relatives of the victims described the deal as "really shocking" and asked Mercedes to terminate the deal, as the Guardian reports.
You accuse the company of having also equipped the Grenfell Tower with highly flammable insulation.
Housing Minister Michael Gove was also outraged by the sponsorship.
He was deeply disappointed that Mercedes had accepted sponsorship from the Kingspan disguise company while the Grenfell investigation was ongoing.
Gove said on Twitter that the Grenfell community deserves better.
Grenfell United, an association of survivors, wrote to the motorsport director of Mercedes Toto Wolff: Kingspan played a central role in the accident.
The company must be publicly reprimanded.
The group urged Wolff to break off relations with Kingspan immediately.
Mercedes emphasized that the drivers are not involved in sponsorship decisions.
A statement said: "Our partner Kingspan has supported the investigation and continues to help determine what went wrong in the Grenfell Tower tragedy and why."
The company told the Guardian: Kingspan played no role in the design of the Grenfell Tower cladding system.
Kingspan materials made up only five percent of the insulation.
