In the southern Hessian community of Seeheim-Jugenheim, a woman was trapped between two cars and was fatally injured.
According to the police, a 58-year-old got into his car that he had parked on a slope.
The automatic vehicle then rolled backwards about two meters on the steep road.
A 79-year-old was caught and trapped between the vehicle rolling backwards and another parked car.
According to police, the man probably released the handbrake and did not accelerate enough to prevent the car from rolling.
The woman died of serious injuries in the hospital.
According to the police, two other people standing next to the victim managed to get to safety in time and were only slightly injured.
The exact cause of the accident will now be clarified by an expert.
A police spokesman said that automatic vehicles could also roll off "if it is steep enough".

"We have already had this experience here a few times with our company vehicles."
