(ANSA) - HELSINKI, 03 DEC - Five men were arrested in Helsinki, accused of terrorism, for having planned an attack that is believed to be linked to far-right circles.
The five men, all around the age of 25, were placed in precautionary custody on charges of terrorism, the police said. "The subjects, according to preliminary investigations, show far-right acceleration trends," Supo security expert EeroPietila said in a press conference, adding that this is the first suspected case of far-right terrorism in Finland. Accelerationism is a white supremacist ideology that has been linked to mass asparatoria in the United States, in which followers aim to sow division and interracial tension in society.
