"By tonight I will sign an ordinance with which, from Monday 6 December, the obligation for the entire population over 12 to wear a mask, even outdoors, throughout the region".
This is what the president of the Calabria Region Roberto Occhiuto says.
"A measure that I believe is necessary - continues Occhiuto - to try to stem the infections. We will make available the stocks of masks contained in the warehouses of the Region for the Municipalities that need them". Today in Calabria 456 new infections have been registered and hospitalizations have increased both in intensive care and in care departments. "The infections continue to rise - underlines Occhiuto in a note - and with them a consequent pressure on the hospital network. We are fast approaching the holidays, and our cities will be full of Calabrians, first engaged in pre-Christmas shopping, and immediately afterwards intent on celebrating Christmas and the New Year, the opportunities for gatherings will multiply, and unfortunately the virus in a scenario of this type could spread even more easily.
