France has re-authorized planes from southern Africa to land on its soil since midnight, and this Saturday morning, the government spokesperson was in Roissy to recall the measures taken.
Faced with the fear of the new Omicron variant, which is spreading without knowing for the moment the real extent of its extent, Gabriel Attal has again promised a "new drastic organization" which must "reduce as much as possible the risk of import of the Omicron variant ”.

Since Wednesday, France has enriched its classification in three colors (green, orange and red) with a scarlet red which includes the countries most at risk of Covid, due to the presence of the new variant.
The seven countries of Southern Africa (South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and Eswatini) as well as Malawi, Zambia and Mauritius fall into this category. .
This means that only French and European nationals, diplomatic personnel and flight personnel from these countries can come to France.
For the others, "there will be no authorized trips for professional, tourist, family, study or even research", said Gabriel Attal Wednesday, after the Council of Ministers.
A new test on arrival
Passengers arriving in France, in addition to the test to be carried out before departure, must take a new test on arrival.
A negative test gives the right to a prefectural isolation order for seven days, in a single place.
But if the test turns out to be positive, the quarantine must take place in a hotel designated by the prefect, and for a period of ten days under surveillance.
This Saturday morning, Gabriel Attal recalled that the vaccination status of the passenger did not matter, and that anyone who does not respect the quarantine would be fined 1,500 euros.
