Double for the Norwegian Aleksander Kilde who in Beaver Creek after the super-G on Thursday also won the first downhill scheduled in the Colorado resort, with a time of 1.39.63. Behind him the Austrian Matthias Mayer in 1.40.29 and the Swiss Beat Feuz in 1.40.64 who thus obtained his 54th career podium.
Finally a good race for the blue jets with an excellent performance by the Roman Matteo Marsaglia fourth in 1.40.83 and his best downhill result thanks to his speed and precision in the more technical sections of the Bird's of Prey track. Marsaglia - born in 1985 and fresh father of Andrea - is above all a super gigantist and in Beaver Creek in 2012 he obtained his only victory in the discipline.
Then there is also the good fifth time of Dominik Paris in 1.40.86, a clear recovery compared to the three other first fast races of the season.
For Italy - with perfect sun and snow conditions - there is also the 14th place of Christof Innrhofer.
Further back Emanuele Buzzi and Mattia Casse.
Tomorrow in Beaver Creek the second and last descent of the American trip of the white circus is scheduled.
