VNGRD. The book is the book that celebrates the clothing brand born in Milan in 2005, as the creative expression of a group of designers and artists who had lived for years in the underground heart of the city.

Thanks to a very unique approach to design and a refusal to obey the commercial customs of a world that was moving away from a traditional model to today's ultra-connected landscape, VNGRD questioned everything and connected many of the people who would later become protagonists of the zeitgeist.

Led by the creative direction of Giorgio Di Salvo, one of the two founders, VNGRD quickly acquired cult status, amassing collaborations with brands such as Stussy, Super, Fuct and Slam Jam, receiving recognition from Kanye West among others, and throwing seeds that would have given birth to the Octopus brand: the motif with the tentacles was in fact born as a VNGRD graphic in 2006. To celebrate the special relationship with the brand, Octopus has also created a capsule of original Octopus VNGRD garments, faithful to the first release of 2006 down to the last detail. A remake of the first two colors of the Octopus sweatshirt, gray and purple, released for the A / W 2006 collection, plus the first Octopus t-shirt, released for the S / S 2007 collection.

The book, 336 pages, 60 euros, published by Rizzoli, is a complete archive of the brand's graphic and stylistic production, including never-before-seen pieces and behind-the-scenes looks, with written contributions by Marcelo Burlon (founder of County of Milan), Virgil Abloh, the designer who died prematurely a few days ago, founder of Off White, Erik Brunetti (founder of Fuct), Massimo Torrigiani (founder of Boiler and Fantom), Alessio Ascari (founder of Kaleidoscope), Federico Sarica, head of editorial content, GQ Italy, editor-in-chief, Rivista Studio, and many others with the photographic services of Francesco Nazardo and Jim C. Nedd.
