Deutsche Welle (DW) is suspending its cooperation with the Jordanian broadcaster Roya TV.
"The occasion is the announcement of anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic comments and caricatures in the social media that were distributed by the broadcaster," said the German international broadcaster.
Last week the magazine "Vice" reported on the broadcaster Roya TV and posts on the net.
DW said it regretted the original assessment that Roya TV was "not hostile to Israel."
The person responsible for sales, marketing, production and technology at Deutsche Welle, Guido Baumhauer, said: »We apologize that we did not notice these disgusting pictures.
After the publications in question by Roya TV, we have to reassess the cooperation. «
Some of the content distributed on the broadcaster's social media channels is not compatible with DW's values.
"We will now internally review our selection of partners even more critically, especially with regard to anti-Semitism and racism," said Baumhauer.
Irrespective of this case, Deutsche Welle is currently also having external investigations into allegations of anti-Semitism against several of its own employees in the Arabic editorial team and freelance employees abroad.
They are free during the exam.
The »Süddeutsche Zeitung« reported that several DW employees had allegedly posted anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli statements on the Internet in recent years.
These entries were later deleted.
