(ANSA-AFP) - PERTH, 06 DEC - The trial of the man accused of kidnapping the four-year-old girl Cleo Smith from the campsite where she was with her family has been postponed to January 24 at the request of her lawyer.
The little girl disappeared overnight from her parents' tent in Western Australia and was found 18 days later in a house in the coastal town of Carnarvon, a few miles from where she disappeared.
His father, 36-year-old Terence Darrell Kelly, appeared in court via video link from the maximum security prison where he is being held but did not speak.
According to the police, the man acted alone and had no connection with the family.
