Working for a month, in smart working, from the island of Robinson Crusoe.
A real project, part of the "Work for Humankind" initiative launched by Lenovo, the world's largest computer manufacturer, with Island Conservation and the Robinson Crusoe Island community.
The program will allow anyone who thinks they can do their job without being present to apply, until December 30th, on the website www.LenovoWFH.com.
Here requests from all over the world will be collected, to then choose the lucky volunteers who will lend a hand to the local communities at the end of the working hours.
According to a recent research by Lenovo on the theme of "work from anywhere", ie the possibility of working anywhere without limits of space and time, 63% of Italians would be available to work from anywhere in the world, 76% are enthusiastic about the new emerging technology that will make smart working easier while 65% would accept to work more hours if it would mean being able to do it from a remote location. Thanks to the Work for Humankind project, the volunteers selected by Lenovo based on a range of skills, backgrounds and specializations, will spend a month on Robinson Crusoe Island to help prevent the extinction of endangered species and support the local community in its path towards sustainability, but they will be able to continue doing their work remotely at the same time.
This will be possible through a series of recovery projects, in collaboration with Island Conservation and the entire community, to foster positive change in island life, such as the development of solutions that foster connectivity.
The place where the program takes place is more than 640 kilometers west of mainland Chile, and is among the richest on the planet, ecologically.
