The operator of a guesthouse in Hinterweidenthal in southwestern Palatinate had to deal with an uninvited guest: a naked man, unknown to the guesthouse operator, was lying in one of the beds of the guesthouse on Friday, the police said.

The 65-year-old claims to have gained unauthorized access to the pension in order to rest there.

He stripped himself naked and went to bed.

"He paid the fee for cleaning the rooms on site," it said.

But that did not end the incident: the police are now investigating trespassing.

According to the investigators, the man reported that he was on his way back from Karlsruhe to the Dahner Felsenland community.

He lives there, around eight kilometers from the guest house.
