Massimo Ferrero was arrested by the Guardia di Finanza as part of an investigation by the prosecutor of Paola for corporate crimes and bankruptcy.

Ferrero was arrested in Milan and taken to the San Vittore prison for
the crash of 4 companies
in the hotel, tourism and cinema sector based in the province of Cosenza.
The companies, from what has been learned, were declared bankrupt a few years ago.
Following the investigation, Ferrero - the Ligurian club ashamed in a note - resigned from the presence of the company
Together with the president of Sampdoria, his daughter Vanessa was arrested and placed under house arrest,
accused of the same crime of bankruptcy as her father is accused
. Furthermore, among those arrested there is also a grandson of Ferrero, Giorgio. For the moment, the identity of the other three arrested persons involved in the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Paola is unknown.
Ferrero was arrested in Milan and was ordered to be transferred to the San Vittore prison. According to what is learned, in addition to the president of Sampdoria, his
daughter Vanessa and his nephew Giorgio - both under house arrest -
among the recipients of the provision of the investigating judge of the court of Paola there are
also two managers
. Ferrero's lawyer, Pina Tenga, has filed a petition with the magistrates so that he can be transferred to Rome to allow them to witness the search and proceed with the opening of a safe inside a house.

This was underlined by Sampdoria, adding that the events of the investigation "are completely independent" from the club and from Roman activities linked to cinema.
Ferrero's lawyers put themselves "at the complete disposal of the investigators" to "clarify immediately" the position of their client.
