(ANSA) - CATANZARO, 07 DEC - GiancarloPittelli, the former Forza Italia parliamentarian and lawyer accused for mafia association in the Rinascita Scott trial, is back in prison. This was decided by the Court of Vibo Valentia.
At the origin of the aggravation of the measure, according to what has been learned, a letter that Pittelli would have written in early October to the secretariat of the minister for the South Mara Carfagnanella who asked the minister "Help me in any way".
Letter which then, according to what has been learned, reached Ddadi Catanzaro who asked the Court to worsen the precautionary measure for violation of house arrest.
In the letter, according to what has been learned, Pittellirecalls the accusations that are being contested and shows his innocence. The former parliamentarian would have turned to Carfagna, his former party colleague, giving her the you and leaving the phone number of his wife for any communications.
The secretariat of the Minister, again according to what has been learned, sent the letter to the inspectorate of Palazzo Chigi who, in turn, forwarded it to the Catanzaro mobile squad and, from there, it reached the Public Prosecutor of Catanzaro led by NicolaGratteri. In the light of what happened, the magistrates sent a request for an aggravation of the precautionary measure to the Court of Vibo Valentia which judges the Rebirth Scott trial (Brigida Cavasino president, Gilda Romano and Claudia Caputo). The board accepted the request and arranged a new precautionary measure in prison for Pittelli, believing that the affair demonstrates the inadequacy of the house arrest.
Pittelli returns to prison for the third time: the first was in December 2019 when he was arrested in the context of the Rebirth Scott operation.
After almost a year of detention in Nuoro, the lawyer was assigned to house arrest.
On 19 October he was rearrested by the DDA of Reggio Calabria with the "Mala Pigna" operation and served another 27 days in prison before the Review redestined him to house arrest.
Revoked now and transformed into detention in prison by the letter to Mara Carfagna.
