The two skiers hit by an avalanche shortly after 1pm in the Piccolo San Bernardo area were pulled alive from the snow.
This was confirmed by Killy Martinet, president of the Piccolo San Bernardo cable cars.
The conditions of the two skiers are still unknown, as they were in a part of the La Thuile area which is currently closed.
In addition to the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue, the financial police and the pisteurs of the company that manages the ski lifts also intervened.
Another accident in the mountains.
The body of the 57-year-old hiker, originally from Ceccano (Frosinone), Antonello Spanu,
has been
found, missing since Saturday on Monte Gorzano, in the territory of the municipality of Amatrice (Rieti).
The discovery, in an inaccessible spot, was carried out by a mixed research team made up of members of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps, the Fire Brigade, the Guardia di Finanza and the IX Aquila Alpine Regiment.
Soon, the Lazio Alpine Rescue announced, "the recovery of the body and subsequent transport to the valley" will be carried out.
There has been no news of Spanu since last Saturday, when he himself, during an excursion on Mount Gorzano, had raised the alarm saying that he had lost his bearings due to a sudden deterioration in weather conditions.
However, his cell phone had since stopped working.
The searches had been going on for three days and this morning, in addition to the ground crews, a fire brigade helicopter had also intervened in the area.
