Among the most recurring criteria are age, sex, physical appearance and origin.
Even more serious, one in two young people would have witnessed discrimination or discriminatory harassment.

In France, nearly half of young people report having already been encouraged during an interview to change their appearance or adopt a certain behavior

"Deleterious and lasting consequences"
Beyond the observation, the study reveals that 40% of them said nothing, especially women.
Second problem, discriminations combine and have lasting effects.
Thus 13% of young people would see their rights to access to housing hampered, 13% to leisure and 10% to administrations and public services.

The repeated experience of discrimination has deleterious and lasting consequences on individual careers, undermines the cohesion of French society and the confidence of our youth in the promise of equality.
This is one of the major work axes of my mandate,
”recalls Defender of Rights Claire Hédon.
In particular, it offers awareness-raising measures for young workers and businesses.
