(ANSA) - LONDON, 08 DEC - After the USA and Australia, Great Britain too has decided to boycott the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Prime Minister BorisJohnson announced this.
During Question Time in the House of Commons, Johnson said he generally does not support sports boycotts but this case has not been attended by British ministers and officials due to alleged human rights violations by China.
The UK's move follows similar steps taken by other Western countries, such as Australia which announced its intention to join the United States in a diplomatic boycott of the Games.
