(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 08 - Saturday evening, a few hours after the Finnish foreign minister tested positive for Covid, Prime Minister Sanna Marin, despite having had contact with him, went to dance in the disco. The BBC reports it.
In partial defense of the varicorded Finnish head of government who was initially told that she did not need to isolate herself because she had been vaccinated with two doses. Later, however, another message was sent to her working cell phone advising her to avoid social contact. But this message Marin hasn't seen since she forgot her phone at home. She noticed the new warning only on Sunday and immediately carried out a test that was negative for the virus.
If at first Marin defended his behavior, later in a post on Facebook he admitted that he should have to check the messages and above all adopt a more judicious behavior. "I am very sorry for not understanding that I had to do this," wrote Marin. According to Finnish Covid guidelines, anyone who has received a double dose of the vaccine does not need to isolate themselves if they come in contact with a positive. But the guidelines advise people to avoid social contact if they are waiting to take a test for Covid. For the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, there are separate guidelines for ministers and government employees that also recommend limiting social contacts immediately after exposure with an infected person.
Speaking with reporters in parliament today, Prime Minister Marin said she was never given this guidance and reiterated responsibility for her actions and apologized again.
It was a gossip magazine, Seiska, that published the photos of the prime minister in a Helsinki nightclub with friends on Saturday evening (ANSA).
