Amélie Mauresmo, former world number one, has been appointed director of Roland-Garros, the first woman in history to hold this post.
He replaces Guy Forget.
"We are very happy to announce that Amélie Mauresmo will be the new director of Roland-Garros until at least 2024" announced the president of the French Tennis Federation (FFT) Gilles Moretton.
It is a great "pride", commented Mauresmo, who said she was "honored" to take the direction of the Major on clay.
Guy Forget, who has run Roland-Garros since 2016 and the Masters 1000 in Paris since 2012, was on his contract expiring at the end of 2021 and on Tuesday turned down offers from the FFT.
Bercy's new indoor tournament director will be announced "in early 2022," Moretton added.
