A 67-year-old is sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his separated wife and a mutual acquaintance.

According to a judicial spokesman, the district court in Nuremberg determined the particular severity of the guilt.

Early release from prison after 15 years is legally possible, but practically impossible.

The taxi driver from Turkey had killed the two victims out of jealousy a little more than a year ago because he had mistakenly mistaken them for lovers.

He shot the woman in the head in front of his son on the street in front of her house.

He killed the friend in his taxi in the immediate vicinity.

The prosecutor had argued that the defendant was convinced that his wife should not have a new relationship because otherwise she would dishonor him and their two sons.

That's why he made the decision to kill the 63-year-old and her supposed lover.

The 67-year-old had stood before the court, but given a dispute as the motive.

He asked the acquaintance and the woman for an interview because he was concerned that the acquaintance would take the woman off financially.

This led to an argument in which his wife stabbed him in the back, he had his defense lawyer explain.

It made him so angry that he picked up the gun.
