(ANSA) - BEIJING, 09 DEC - Media tycoon Jimmy Lai is among the three pro-democracy activists from Hong Kong who are judged guilty of participating in and encouraging them to join the "illegal" vigil in memory of the bloody events in Tiananmen Square in 2020.
In addition to Lai, the 74-year-old founder of the pro-democracy tabloid Apple Daily, former journalist Gwyneth Ho and well-known rights attorney Chow Hang-tung are involved.
Lai's presence at the press conference introducing the event "was a deliberate act to garner support and publicize the ensuing unauthorized assembly," ruled Judge Amanda Woodcock.
