Stuck in legal setbacks since November 5 and the crowd movement that claimed the lives of ten people during his concert at his own Astroworld festival, the rapper is now withdrawn from Coachella's poster.

the programmers preferred to cancel the participation of the artist, who was to perform headlining during the two weekends of festivities scheduled for April.

A cancellation that comes at a cost.
The American magazine specifies that the organizers of Coachella would be ready to pay cancellation fees up to 25% of the fee initially provided to the representatives of the artist.
The move comes after a petition urging organizers to cancel the concert garnered more than 60,000 signatures.

Travis Scott had been announced as headliner for the 2020 Coachella edition - twice postponed due to Covid-19 - along with Rage Against The Machine and the all too rare Frank Ocean.
The latter has postponed his performance to the 2023 edition, and only Rage Against The Machine is confirmed for the 2022 edition. Four months before the festival, almost the entire list of guest artists is still unknown, but the two weeks -end of festivities are already full.
A first speech
Travis Scott first spoke about the Astroworld drama in a fifty-minute interview with American journalist Charlamagne Tha God last week. He says he wanted to help "
every time [he] saw something
", and to have "
stopped [the concert] several times to [make] sure that everyone was okay
". Travis admits, however, that
he
"
just saw nothing
" of the drama that was unfolding a few feet from the stage.
“I didn't know the exact details until a few minutes before the press conference [after my concert]. And even then, you say to yourself: "Wait, what?". People faint, things happen at concerts, but something like that ... ”,

In recent years, several incidents have been deplored at Travis Scott concerts, parties known to be very "physical".
“It's something I've been working on for a while, creating these experiences and trying to show that they can happen in a safe environment.
That night was like a normal concert, it seemed to me, as far as energy is concerned.
People just came to have a good time and then something unfortunate happened and I think we really have to figure out what it was, ”
the musician explained.
