(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 14 - "15 years after Expo Milano, the Italian government, in partnership with the Municipality of Rome, its citizens, local authorities and the country as a whole, today presents its candidacy to host the World Expo of 2030 in Rome, the Eternal City, from 25 April to 25 October, with the title 'People and territories: urban regeneration, inclusion and innovation'
, said the Foreign Minister, Luigi di Maio, in presenting Rome's candidacy to host the 2030 Expo at the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (Bie).
In recent decades, our societies and cities have suffered the effects of globalization and digitalization, further accentuated by the Covid-19 pandemic. These trends go beyond the physical space that we share, erasing distances and suggesting a possible decline in urban concentration ", continued Di Maio.
" However, even in this context - added the Minister of Foreign Affairs - cities never stop attracting people, because above all our desire for social interaction prevails. Our cities are the expression of human activity; they grow and develop around the needs and aspirations of their inhabitants; they are transformed thanks to the ideas and creativity of their citizens. This is the theme of the Rome Expo 2030 ". (ANSA).
