(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 14 - Jubilee 2025 and Expo 2030. The challenge that Rome will face in the next few years passes through these two stages to transform itself into a more modern, welcoming and sustainable city. The commitment to design the new face of the Italian capital involves various levels of government. In the morning, Prime Minister Mario Draghi presides over a meeting on the governance of the Holy Year and indicates Roberto Gualtieri as commissioner. A few hours later, the same mayor - together with the foreign minister Luigi Di Maio and the president of the promoting committee Giampiero Massolo - presented the Eternal City's candidacy to the Bureau des Exposition to host the Universal Exposition in nine years. During the meeting at PalazzoChigi on the Jubilee, theestablishment of a public contracting company and a control committee composed of representatives of the Government, the Holy See, the Lazio Region and the Capitol. Gualtieri thanks Draghi, says he is "honored with this certificate of esteem" and promises: "We will work tirelessly".
Just the Holy Year of 2025 is one of the levers that should lead the capital to win Expo: the Jubilee - it is Latesi - will turn into an opportunity to improve infrastructures, services and accommodation capacity.
