The great absence of recent weeks, the high pressure of the Azores, has conquered the Mediterranean basin and a large slice of the Old Continent. Italy will enjoy the protection of the anticyclone at least until next Friday. Stefano Ghetti, meteorologist of the site www.iLMeteo.it informs that for the next few days the atmosphere in most of the regions will be stable thanks to the anticyclone. The sun will largely prevail, but high pressure in autumn and winter is not always synonymous with good weather, in fact the nightmare of fog could return to the Po Valley. The reduction of visibility could be important on the plains of Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia making the sky invisible in cities such as Asti, Alessandria, Pavia, Milan, Bologna and Modena.In some cases the fog can be persistent throughout the day causing very cold days. On the rest of Italy the weather will be sunnier although in the south and on Abruzzo and Molise the cloudiness will be more present and sometimes even compact. This situation could change radically over the course of the weekend. The push towards Scandinavia of high pressure will favor the arrival of icy currents from Russia which between Saturday and Sunday will hit the central-southern Adriatic regions where the snow will gradually drop to lower altitudes.This situation could change radically over the course of the weekend.
