Former football star OJ Simpson is officially a free man again.
The 74-year-old was paroled Tuesday in the state of Nevada for good conduct.
Simpson had lived under government supervision in Las Vegas since his multi-year prison term ended in October 2017.
Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in prison in 2008 for armed robbery in a Las Vegas hotel.
A Nevada judicial committee unanimously decided in mid-July 2017 to give Simpson the remaining years parole.
The former top footballer, who later made a career as an actor in Hollywood ("The Naked Cannon"), together with accomplices, had forced two collectors of fan articles at gunpoint to surrender devotional items.
More than a decade earlier, he had been at the center of one of the most controversial trials in recent US legal history.
In the spectacular circumstantial trial in 1995 he was acquitted of the charge of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her companion.
The judgment of that time divides the US public to this day, the events of Simpson have long since found their way into US pop culture.
