A man in Austria has been sentenced to several years in prison for sexual offenses against hundreds of children and young people.
The district court in Vienna on Tuesday imposed three and a half years in prison as well as the assignment to a facility for so-called mentally abnormal lawbreakers.
According to the indictment, the 57-year-old used software that made him look like an attractive girl in video chats.
He got more than 600 underage boys to engage in sexual acts, which he then recorded.
"You are in great danger"
The man was charged not only with child pornography, but also with child sexual abuse in the Philippines.
The defendant confessed to all of the offenses in court.
"It is clear to us that you are in great danger if you are not treated in a suitable institution," said the judge.
The verdict is not yet legally binding.
When it comes into force, the defendant can be held after the years of imprisonment until there is no risk of renewed offense.
