A British man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of two young women and the abuse of more than 100 dead bodies.

A court in the English city of Maidstone sentenced the confessed 67-year-old to the maximum sentence.

Almost 35 years ago, the perpetrator murdered two young women in the southeastern county of Kent and then abused them.

After investigators had been in the dark for decades, a DNA test finally led them to the man last year.

Access to mortuaries as an electrician

The investigation revealed that he had passed on 102 corpses of women and girls in the morgues of two hospitals for years.

The police were able to identify 81 of them by name.

Some of the victims were still minors when they died.

As an electrician, the man had access to the morgue.

He videotaped his necrophilic acts and hid the recordings in his house.

"You will spend every day in prison for the rest of your life," the judge said to the perpetrator.

His confession looks like a hollow gesture.
