The messaging service Whatsapp has rolled out an update for voice messages.
The new function is already available to all users.
Germany - Anyone who frequently sends voice messages via WhatsApp is probably familiar with the problem: In the middle of the recording, you suddenly get tangled or make promises.
So far there have only been two options in this case: Send the unsuccessful message anyway - or delete it and record again.
This problem has now been resolved with the current update.

Whatsapp with a practical update - voice messages get a preview function
The beta portal WABeta-Info had already announced weeks ago that the Whatsapp was tinkering with the voice messaging function.
The update is now available to all users.
Messenger will announce the feature on Twitter on Tuesday (December 14th) as a Voice Message Preview - the preview of voice messages.
The practical thing about it: Thanks to the new preview, users can now stop and listen to their recorded voice messages before sending them (news about digital matters * on RUHR24).
Whatsapp update: Hear your own voice messages before sending them - this is how it works
Specifically, Whatsapp introduces a stop button that can be used to pause the messages.
Voice messages can now be checked before they are sent:
To record the message, slide the microphone symbol up with your finger.
This enables hands-free recording.
A new view now appears at the bottom of the display showing how long has been spoken.
In addition, a stop symbol appears in the middle, which can be used to pause the recording.
This gives the user the opportunity to listen to them before they are sent.

Whatsapp: There is still a catch to useful voice messaging
With the preview it is also possible to listen to a certain point in the message - so you don't have to listen to it from the beginning.
This is of course useful for long messages.
For everyone who tends to speak for too long, the new feature also has a completely different benefit: You can see at a glance how many minutes the recording has already been running.
The only drawback with the new feature: There is no pause function - after listening to it, you cannot continue speaking the message.
There are only two options: delete or send.
