While Jean Castex announced new measures to fight against the fifth wave, 58,128 positive cases have been identified in the last 24 hours in the territory by Public Health France.
As a reminder, the health authority recorded 60,866 new cases on Thursday and 55,339 a week ago.
The incidence rate climbed this Friday to 520.3 against 515.4 Thursday.
Among all the contaminations, a hundred involve the new variant Omicron, according to the Prime Minister.
The situation is particularly tense in hospitals: the ARS of the Paca region indicated that “preventive” transfers of Covid patients had started.
Two patients from APHM Marseille have already been transferred to Brittany and three other patients from the region will be referred to hospitals in Île-de-France on Saturday.
According to Public Health France, 15,410 Covid-19 patients are currently being treated in hospitals.
They were 15,142 Thursday and 13,629 last Friday.
Of these patients, 2,901 occupy critical care departments, reserved for the most severe cases.
They were 2,832 the day before and 2,498 a week earlier.
Health authorities also identified 1,449 new coronavirus patients on Friday admitted to hospitals, against 1,342 Thursday.
Finally, 163 deaths have been recorded at the hospital in the last 24 hours, against 142 eight days ago, bringing to 121,234 the number of
people who have died from Covid in France since the start of the pandemic.
