Reigning Olympic champion, the French women's handball team has so far achieved a flawless course in this world championship. During the group stage, the Blue won their three matches against Slovenia, Montenegro and Angola, then three others against Poland, Serbia and Russia. In the quarter-finals, the level went up a notch since the French had to rub shoulders with the Swedish selection. We saw a very tight first period where France and Sweden parted with a draw of 15-15 at the break. But coming back from the locker room, Coralie Lassource and her partners stepped up to finally dominate their opponents and win 31-26. In the semifinals, the France team rubs against Denmark in the semi-final which has a similar course and which got rid of Brazil in the quarter-finals (30-25).
