House prices in Italy fell by 15% between 2010 and 2020, compared with a 26% increase in the EU average.
These are the data from Eurostat's Housing in Europe 2021 update.
In the EU, since 2013, there has been a constant upward trend, with substantial increases between 2015 and 2020. On the contrary, the Italian price curve falls sharply starting from 2011, and then stabilizes in 2019, with a slight jump in the 2020. For rents there is an increase in the EU: + 14% compared to 2010.
Increase that is also recorded in Italy, albeit more contained: in 10 years rents have grown by about 6.5%.
