After an accident with a bouncy castle in Australia, the death toll has risen to six.

An eleven-year-old died, the police said.

The other dead are three boys and a girl aged twelve and an eleven-year-old.

Three other children were injured, two of whom are still in critical condition, police say, and one is recovering at home.

The children fell up to ten meters to the ground on Thursday after an inflated bouncy castle was hit by a gust of wind and lifted into the air.

The tragedy occurred at a ceremony at a primary school in Devonport, northwest Tasmania.

The cause of the accident is still unclear.

During the investigation, one must show consideration for the grieving families and the school community, the police said.

"We're not rushing, but we also understand the community wants answers," said Darren Hine, Tasmania police chief.

He had previously announced that the investigators want to determine whether it was an unforeseeable accident or whether negligence was involved.

Tasmania asked the New South Wales Police to help interview the other fifth and sixth graders who had attended the event.
