The post-corona period is a bit of a lie.

On the one hand, we see quite a few restaurants full almost every evening, especially on weekends.

With quite a few restaurants, getting a place has become quite a challenging task.

On the other hand, it is not really easy to be a restaurateur in Israel during this period, a year of closures, certainly gives its signals, even if slightly late.

A few months ago, it was chef Avi Conforti who announced that he was closing the successful Safra restaurant, after 15 years of operation, and emphasized that he was closing precisely when the restaurant was at its peak.

Yakimono Restaurant in Rothschild, which was considered one of the most stable and successful Japanese in the country, and its sushi is one of the best in town, also closed this month after 21 years of operation, and now it's chef Segev Moshe's turn to announce the closure.

And not just a closure.

Tonight, the chef posted on his Instagram account that he is closing the Segev Art restaurant in Herzliya, his flagship restaurant, the first to open, 17 years ago. The chef posted the announcement in three different posts, in which he stressed that while the restaurant is full every night, he feels it is too small to accommodate this complex period. However hinted that the restaurant might return later in format and elsewhere.

"Segev Art in Herzliya, the first restaurant I opened 17 years ago will end its operations on 1/1/2022 after more than a million people! After four restaurant managers and four head chefs after lots of menus and meals in Israel and abroad, full of innovations and endless investment, collaborations Exciting with artists and brands in Israel and around the world. After 17 years of full activity 'I'm very excited to close you and in the same breath proud and wish everyone I love in the industry and my group of course thats how all your / our restaurants will be, no less. In the last 17 years, we have closed Herzliya three times for two to three months to renovate, innovate, repair and adapt to the spirit of my time and the creativity of the teams, the artists and the world. We replaced it all from start to finish with long and stressful renovations and always with great excitement, but this time we are closing you in Herzliya permanently. We close you when you are beautiful, up-to-date and full every evening anew with a guest list. We close you because you are too small to contain the period,But beloved and too big for you not to be given a proper and big place later on. So with tears of excitement, love and lots and lots and lots of respect. It's not over, it's just the end. "

Segev added that on New Year's Eve there will be the last shift, but the restaurant is already full that evening, and so are most evenings that week.

But you can find last places for lunch in the coming days and for some evenings for those who want to say goodbye.

He went on to thank his partners and staff at the place, and signed "and no thank you Corona".

Apart from Segev Art, which is considered the most expensive of its restaurants, in recent years Moshe has opened restaurants that were considered simpler and cheaper, providing an experience for the whole family "Segev Express" and also tried his luck with fast street food branches in Sharona Market which closed, as well as Cinema City Rishon Lezion.

He also owns two Japanese restaurants, Nihon Nu-Ba in Hod Hasharon and Petah Tikva.

He signed the critique of the last meal that Avi Efrati ate at Segev Art as follows: "All that remains is to determine that this is one of the most scandalous places here in terms of value for money. "It's just one tier in it. A bad meal that redefines the boundaries of impudence."
