(ANSA) - BEIJING, DECEMBER 20 - Peng Shuai denied that she had ever accused someone of sexually assaulting her, assuring that she had always been in her home in Beijing without her movements being restricted.

The Chinese tennis player first addressed the issue in person since she disappeared from public view in early November after a post on her verified Weibo account accused former Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of sexual abuse.

Peng spoke in a brief interview with the Singapore-language Chinese-language newspaper LianheZaobao at an International Federation of Cross-Country Skiing event in Shanghai.
