Jean Castex announced Friday evening that a bill replacing the health pass by a vaccination pass would be presented at the start of the school year. From

A compulsory health pass to go to the restaurant or the cinema?

Last summer, this announcement sparked a scramble for booking platforms.

Same thing when the booster dose became mandatory to keep his pass, mid-November.

And the impact was verified again this weekend, after statements by Jean Castex about the health pass, which will be replaced by a vaccination pass.

On Friday, 17,000 people made an appointment with Doctolib to receive a first dose of vaccine in the days to come.

That's 6,000 more than the previous Friday.

Same observation Saturday and Sunday: nearly 26,000 slots were reserved during these two days, versus around 12,000 each of the two previous weekends.

Almost 95% of the appointments made in the last three days were made by people under 65, and 35% by people under 25.

To date, 5.6 million people aged 12 and over, including 4.5 million under the age of 65, have not yet received any vaccine doses.

Coming into force "end of January"?

Doctolib does not represent all the injections given, since people are also vaccinated without having made an appointment beforehand.

Currently, 21,000 French people receive their first dose of vaccine each day, a rate that has been more or less stable for several weeks and has already increased slightly for a few days.

But the numbers of slots reserved give a trend for the days to come.

This development illustrates the renewed interest in vaccination as the Omicron variant is about to surge… or the feeling of constraint, at the idea of soon being deprived of a restaurant, a cinema, or even a museum.

This vaccination pass is a kind of "disguised vaccination obligation", recognized Olivier Véran on Saturday.

This announcement also had an impact (less striking) on the slots reserved for receiving a booster dose.

There were 430,000 this weekend, against 330,000 the previous one.

Currently, the health pass is deactivated after seven months without a third dose (or second dose for those who have been infected and only first-time vaccinated).

The government hopes for the vaccination pass to come into force "at the end of January", its spokesperson, Gabriel Attal, said on Sunday evening on LCI.

Subject to debates in Parliament, the opinion of the Council of State and that of the Constitutional Council, which will certainly be requested.
